HISTORY OF THE HALEY AUTOMOTIVE ORGANIZATION

     The present Haley Dealerships are proud successors to the long line of automotive history in the Richmond, Virginia area. The original Haley Dealership began with Lynn Pontiac, which existed in Richmond prior to 1960. The present Haley name is in recognition of Mr. Gene Haley, a gentleman from Pennsylvania, who came to Richmond in 1963 to invest in Lynn Pontiac. The dealership then became Lynn-Haley Pontiac. In 1967, Mr. Haley became the sole owner, relocated the Dealership facilities to Semmes Avenue in Richmond, and changed the name to Haley Pontiac.

     In late 1972,  Mr. David Trebour purchased shares in the company and became the dealer, retaining the Haley name. When Mr. Haley passed away in 1979,  Mr. Trebour became the owner. The Dealership expanded and moved to its present location on Midlothian Turnpike in 1982.  It was the first Dealership in the area. GMC products were added in 1986, and the Dealership became Haley Pontiac-GMC.

     J. Doug Pridgen came to the company in 1984 as its controller after working for Haley's CPA firm for five years. He became President of the Haley Auto Group in 1994.

     The original Pontiac Dealership has become a springboard for expansion into additional business operations in Virginia that fall under the marketing umbrella of the Haley Automotive Group. Current Haley operations include Haley of Farmville (Chevrolet, Buick, Toyota, Ford, Jeep, Chrysler and Dodge), Haley Toyota of Roanoke, Haley Toyota of Richmond, and Haley Ford in Chester. It is and exciting time to be a part of the Haley family of companies, as the expansion continues.

     The growth and success of Haley is attributed to a management philosophy that has always been devoted to treating people fairly and to provide quality service that will foster repeat business and referrals in the future.
